After the success of Sons of the Forest, the developers of Endnight Games do not intend to sit idly by. The developers presented fans with a roadmap for the survival horror game.
Sons of the Forest is one of the biggest releases of this year. Even though Endnight Games’ work is only available in early access at the moment, in just 24 hours it has found over 2 million buyers. However, the colossal success of the survival horror game doesn’t stop the developers from expanding it further. The studio has published a video (available below), in which the developers answer the most frequently asked questions and thus shed a little more light on the future of Sons of the Forest.
Kelvin – more work
The main elements that Endnight Games will support are the characters of Kelvin and Virginia. From the video above, we learn that The AI of our companions will be improved, among other things. In addition, the former will receive completely new tasks to perform.. So it will be a big change for him after the demolitions and the felling of the trees.
“We plan to add new tasks that Kelvin can perform. Some ideas in the works are to allow him to build a wall around the base or fortify/repair the headquarters if necessary.
Virginia – more courage
On the other hand, those who are easily frightened Virginia will have more courage when she comes face to face with enemies..
“In Virginia’s case, we plan to expand her AI, particularly in the area of courage if she has a gun, and also based on the number of mutants/cannibals killed.”
Additional content and cracking down on malicious players
The developers also mentioned adding new stories and cutscenes.that will enrich the main plot of the game.
Additionally, they were careful not to turn a deaf ear to the issue of AI killing by players entering other people’s sessions. Endnight Games is already working on a solution to stop this type of action.
The developers also plan to create dedicated servers for children of the forest.
The first big update children of the forest will be released on March 9. Some of the changes described may already be implemented in this patch. Finally, we remind you that the game is exclusively available for PC. The developers anticipate that the early access period for Sons of the Forest will last between 6 and 8 months, but it can be extended if necessary.
