A weapon from Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Adept has quickly become the most used weapon in Destiny 2 PvP activity despite being in FPS play since Friday. The Adept version of The Immortal Legendary Strand Kinetic Machine Gun has apparently become one of the best PvP weapons in Destiny 2, thanks to powerful perks like Rangefinder, which increases effective range and zoom magnification, and Target Lock. , which increases damage for longer. the weapon remains fixed on a target.
Within 72 hours of its release on March 17 during the daily reset at 5 p.m. GMT, the weapon had already become the weapon of choice for Guardians in the most intense activity in multiplayer gaming. On Twitter, players shared that they played over 40 matches to earn the Adept weapon.
Players can earn the weapon by being ‘Flawless’ in Trials of Osiris. To do this they need to get seven straight wins (although they can also choose to get a trial pass called the Mercy Pass which forgives one loss, so in some cases this could mean winning seven out of eight games ).
However, weaker players willing to grind can also earn the weapon as a reward from Saint-14. One player suggested they earned it by queuing solo and using Passage of Wealth, increasing rank points to 3rd, 5th, and 7th wins on a single ticket.
Guardians who have obtained the weapon are already preparing for a nerf due to its potency and immediate status as the weapon of choice in the job. Bungie recently promised a mid-season weapon balancing patch to Lightfall, so it might be able to factor in data showing weapon prominence in Trials of Osiris.
However, Bungie has also made it clear that they want to design activity weapon rewards to be the best for the activity they’re getting into, which means the team is likely aware that the weapon gives an advantage to players who manage to obtain it.
Additionally, players pointed out that the bounty gave people a real reason to do a specific activity in exchange for a bounty, as other in-game activities like Gambit seem to be overlooked.
As of press time, The Immortal (Adept) and its non-Adept variant account for approximately 10% of all Trials of Osiris kills this weekend. If you’re looking for an Immortal (Adept), you have until the weekly reset on Tuesday, March 21 to earn it.
