The significance of Destiny 2 Lightfall Veil has left players scratching their heads, to the point that even major content creators like Byf have weighed in on the campaign’s disjointed narrative flow, forcing players to pursue something they don’t. not understand. . But, seemingly addressing player complaints that a lack of consistency has produced a lackluster Lightfall campaign experience in FPS gameplay, Bungie reveals that players will get answers about the meaning of the veil in Destiny 2 Season 21, titled Season 2. of the Deep.
In a recent post in the game development studio’s This Week at Bungie blog series, blog writer Sam shares that an upcoming Season of the Deep quest will allow players to explore Neomuna while teaching them “The nature of the veil through the investigation of Osiris”. The quest will also share some “newly discovered” data from the Ishtar Collective and will be available to all Destiny 2 Lightfall owners, meaning players won’t need to pay for a Season Pass to play and reap its rewards. .
Additionally, the quest will grant players three new pane aspects (one per class), which are as follows:
- Titan: Storm of Darts
- Hunter: Spindly Specter
- Warlock: The Wanderer
Additionally, the quest will grant players a new legendary weapon. It appears to be a hand cannon, though Bungie hasn’t revealed any details about the weapon beyond its concept art.
Although Bungie hasn’t explicitly stated it, it seems the decision to reveal information about the upcoming questline is meant to appease players who have expressed frustration over unanswered questions about the meaning of the veil. Even Byf, who is referred to by the Destiny 2 community as the game’s “Lore Daddy”, posted a video in which he shared his frustration at not understanding the meaning of the Veil.
The question now is whether it will be too little, too late for Destiny 2’s dedicated fanbase, as Bungie seeks to close the loose threads of this disjointed story.
