Monster Hunter games feature some of the best monster skins you’ll find in gaming, and with each new game more unique skins are added to the hundreds already in the series. From lizards, monkeys and crabs to huge dragons and dinosaurs, there’s a design for every type of gamer. While this is a controversial topic and everyone has different favorites, we’ve put together a list of what we think are some of the best-designed monsters in the Monster Hunter series. We considered combat abilities, music, and its overall design, so know that we gave this list some serious thought.

The best monster designs in Monster Hunter

10. Tobi Kadachi

The Tobi-Kadachi is a simple yet elegant monster design that shows that not all monsters need to be over the top and brightly colored.

It features silvery-blue scales all over its body, white fur on its back, and a flat fan-shaped tail with sharp edges that it uses to strike hunters after gliding with its membrane wings resembling a flying squirrel . . Once charged with electricity, its fur will stand up and it will emit electric shocks throughout its body, making its attacks faster and more deadly. It may be a simple design, but it’s still effective and great for it.

9. Nargacuga

Nargacuga is another simpler design like the Tobi-Kadachi. Still, its glowing red eyes and dark features make it an excellent deadly predator that any hunter should be wary of.

The Nargacuga sports black fur and spikes all over its body, and its main characteristics are its large spiked tail which extends its tip when enraged, and its blade-like black wings which it uses to strike at hunters . Its sleek, minimalist design makes it adept at sneaking into dark places, and its speed and power give it an edge when it comes to surprise attacks. Then he also has red eyes during his enraged mode, giving him a sinister look that lets you know he’s in trouble.

8. Pukei-Pukei

The Pukei-Pukei is a colorful and slightly comical design in the Monster Hunter catalog, but it’s one of the most unique monsters you’ll find in the series, and it manages to pull off its interesting look.

Pukei-Pukei looks like a mix of chameleon and frog detailing, with skin that can change a limited number of colors, large slant eyes, and a massive tongue that ripples and snaps to smack small monsters and hunters. It can also release various poisons from its extendable tail and mouth, and sport vibrant, colorful feathers around its wings and neck which, when enraged, turn red. He’s a little clumsy, but he’s a super clumsy.

7. This coal

Gore Magala is one of the most cutting-edge designs in the Monster Hunter series, and it’s still one of the best-looking monsters you’ll find since its introduction in Monster Hunter 4.

Gore Magala has black scales that cover almost every inch of his body and features six limbs, the two largest being his massive black-skinned wings resembling a torn cape equipped with large claws on each. It also has a jaw and tail with large fangs and no visible eyes, which adds to this monster’s fearsome appearance. Add to that its size, strength, and intelligence when fighting, and you’ve got a truly deadly monster that’s dripping with edge.

6. Magnamalo

Magnamalo is Monster Hunter: Rise’s flagship monster, and for good reason, as it’s one of the series’ best-looking new monsters.

This bulky tiger-like monster features purple and yellow scaly armor all over its body, large fangs in its lower jaw, and large jagged yellow horns on its head. The two front legs have a large blade on their sides and a spear-like tail that develops into a three-pronged trident. If that’s not enough, when enraged, it drops bone spikes and blades from its back and can be engulfed in purple flames. He is very metallic and well deserves his place among the best monsters in the series.

5. Queen of the Seltas

We’ve had quite a few dragons and winged monsters on this list, so we’ll be adding something a little different into the mix with the brutal Seltas Queen.

This monster is a large beetle/scorpion-like creature with a heavily armored green exoskeleton. Its smaller front limbs act like small shovels which it uses to dig and grab enemies, and its large tail has a huge orange claw which it will use to swing and grab hunters. Although strong on their own, they work best when paired with a male Setlas and combine to trigger combos together, they provide the queen with brief flight and protection and are sometimes used as a weapon by the queen , a blow for them. . .

4. Mizutsune

Where many monsters can be spiked, hulking creatures with aggressive appearances, the Mizutsune offers another type of beast to find and hunt in the series.

This fox-like creature sports a long, slender appearance and is covered in dark purple fur and light-colored fish-like scales. Its long, fox-like face is adorned with fin-like appendages, and its back and tail are lined with similar pink and yellow feathers. Another peculiarity of the Mizutsune is its ability to breathe and produce bubbles from its fur, which it uses to slip and impede the movement of monsters and hunters. She’s elegant, she’s graceful, and she’ll punch hunters in the face and look great doing it.

3. Malzeno

The Malzeno is the flagship DLC Monster Hunter: Rise, Sunbreak, and it’s one of the best monster skins we’ve seen in recent games.

Its design is reminiscent of European-style dragons, with dark, silvery scales all over its body. It sports pinkish-red feathery-looking scales on its forelegs, chest, and neck, with large wings sporting a dark red underside. It has golden talons, horns, and a large three-pointed tail that can grab prey and hunters. When it has drained enough life energy, its eyes glow and its neck and wings emit pulsating light while the rest of its body is covered in dark red energy. Add to that his immense strength and skill, and you have an evil monster.

2. Glavenus

Let’s put that aside. Glavenus has a sword instead of a tail, which is impressive on its own, but there are a few additional details that make it a truly evil monster.

The Glavenus is equipped with dark red scales all over its body, with two rows of blue bony plates running down from its back to its tail that share the same color. He shares a T-Rex-like body type with small study arms and strong hind legs and a scale-armored face and jaw. Glavenus will sharpen his razor sharp tail using his mouth, and with each attack it gets hotter until he can deal more damage and cause explosions and waves of fire from his attacks.

1. Ratalos

You can’t make a Monster Hunter list without including that quintessential classic monster that has appeared in every episode of the series: the Rathalos.

The Rathalos is a dragon-like monster with spiny, armored skin all over its body, usually bright red with black markings on its face and back. Its title of “king of the skies” is well deserved thanks to its massive wings, marked with black trimmings, and its ability to fly. It also has a long, thick tail with a club at the end, which it swings at enemies in flight, and a pointed, beak-like mouth with fangs. There are multiple variations with different colors of this monster, but the classic red is iconic, and its timeless design has made it the icon of the series, as it deserves.
