While the Episodes VII, VIII, and IX trilogy wasn’t the most beloved Star Wars project, it introduced us to a number of exciting new characters, such as Ray (Daisy Ridley), who we discovered was the granddaughter of Sheev Palpatine (the Emperor), but who decided that being a Palpatine wasn’t his thing and so decided to call himself rey skywalker.
It was a storytelling decision that has divided fans ever since, but whether or not you like the ending of Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, Rey will return to a galaxy far, far in the future.
As announced in the Star Wars Celebration 2023 from London, Ridley will reprise the role of Rey in an upcoming Star Wars movie set 15 years later of the events of Episode IX. Empire reports on Twitter that this film will see Rey rebuild the defunct Jedi Order and the film will be directed by Sharmeen Obaid – Chinoydirector of Ms. Marvel.
At the moment, the release window or even the start of production for this new adventure in the Star Wars universe is unknown, but at least we know for sure that Rey will return.
Along the same lines, it was also revealed that the Star Wars guru David Filoni también will realize a largometraje of Star Wars that will tratara sobre la guerra que tiene lugar entre los restos del Imperio y la Nueva República, lo que quiere decir que tiene lugar en el mismo marco temporal que ya estamos viviendo con The Mandalorian, y dará una conclusion a series.
