Call of Duty: Warzone locks cheaters daily

Raven Software, who are working with Infinity Ward on the successful online shooter Call of Duty: Warzone, have published their first report on cheaters in the game. Far-reaching measures are planned to get the problem under control.

What does the report say? According to Raven Software, 475,000 Permabanns have been pronounced in CoD: Warzone so far. That means almost half a million accounts have been banned from the shooter forever.

In addition, more bans are imposed every day, including Saturdays and Sundays. So there is currently a combination of large waves of bans and daily bans.

In addition, the developers take care of the market for cheat sellers. 45,000 so-called black market accounts have already been blocked here. These accounts are specially farmed and then sold.

This is already being done against cheaters

Raven Software explains that two-factor authentication makes it harder to open new accounts to cheat. In addition, the resources in the security team have been increased and the ban waves are taking place more frequently. In addition, new updates and patches appear faster.

The team reiterates that players should be extremely careful with cheats sold over the Internet. Dangerous malware is often hidden in the files.

What is the problem? CoD: Warzone is a Free2Play game. A blocked cheater can create a new, free account and continue. Although the aforementioned two-factor authentication limits this somewhat, it is not a comprehensive solution to the problem.

That should be done against cheaters in the future

In order to get the problem under control even better, more hardware bans should be applied to repeat offenders in the future. This means that cheaters are recognized on the basis of their hardware, i.e. on the PC. If you open a new account, the system sees that the hardware configuration is locked and does not allow the new account.

What does that mean? The developers of Call of Duty: Warzone are now publicly declaring war on the cheaters with this report. It says:

“There’s no place for cheating. A fair and fun gaming experience is our top priority.”

We’ll see how effective the anti-cheat measures are and how far the problem can be contained. But players should know that fraudsters in CoD: Warzone are rigorously dealt with.

What do you think of this cheat report on CoD: Warzone? Do you think the measures are sufficient?
