After all the complaints from users, the new Call of Duty updates will reduce the sizes of the files and the game in general.
Today, to be able to enjoy the new Call of Duty and its updates, almost that you have to rent the maximum cloud storage from Amazon or borrow a NAS from the FBI. But beyond the joke or the meme, not all of it is bad news, because what has been happening so far, is about to change.
In order not to finish killing your hard drive, Activision is reducing the total size of Warzone and Modern Warfare files on all platforms by more than 30GB and more than 10GB, respectively, as part of their launch of Season Two Reloaded. The problem is, ironically, the latest update is bigger than usual – from 7.4GB to 14.18GB for Black Ops Cold War and from 52 GB to 57.8 GB for Warzone.
Disk space and loading time end up being a real problem in many of the AAA games that came out in recent years. Last year in particular, Epic Games reduced the total size of Fortnite by 60GB on PC.. Activision, meanwhile, it promises that all future patch sizes of Warzone and Modern Warfare they will be smaller, thanks to many improvements in the content management system.
To be as clear as possible, what is really going to make a difference is that we will be able to uninstall the game modes that we do not want to play anymore. Although, of course, to be able to play them we will have to download them again. This is how the file sizes will be on each platform:
- PS4 / PS5: 10.9 GB (war zone) / 30.6 GB (Warzone and Modern Warfare)
- Xbox One / Series X / S: 14.2GB (Warzone) / 33.6GB (Warzone y Modern Warfare)
- PC: 11.8 GB (war zone) / 30.6 GB (Warzone and Modern Warfare)
