If the excellent reboot of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare released in 2019 was emancipated from the original version launched in 2007, it seems that this is not the case for its sequel which will be greatly inspired by a worship mission.

Call of Duty 4 spirit back in Modern Warfare 2?

If the Call of Duty saga quickly made a name for itself, it was only from the cult episode Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that it managed to conquer everyone. This is also why Activision’s goose has opted for a reboot of this episode in 2019. But in addition to its title, namely the very sober Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, this opus n ultimately took very little from its elder. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 expected for October 28, 2022, the sequel to the reboot therefore, the American publisher seems to be changing its tune to this time play with the nostalgic fiber of the fans of the first hour.

Recently, campaign footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was leaked, and if you’re a fan of the series, you’ve probably noticed those few seconds where you see a bomb falling from the sky.

This short passage available above undeniably refers to Mission 8 of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the iconic Death From Above. Just like this opus that made the franchise legendary, so it would seem that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 vintage 2022 puts us again in the role of a gunner of an AC-130 to flush out enemies that prevent ground infantry from advancing.

The All Ghillied Up cult mission is also in the game

This is not the first time that this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 assumes to reconnect with the great sequences of the title of 2007. Earlier in the summer, the game developers also announced that the All Ghillied Up mission, considered by all to be the best part of a Call of Duty game, will be revamped in this brand new opus. To communicate the news, Activsion had shared an image where we see Captain Price in his iconic outfit.

However, like the mission mentioned earlier, not everything will play out exactly as it did in the 2007 episode.
