We’ve been waiting for the sequel to Blasphemous, the title of the Sevillians for a long time The game kitchen and one of the most successful Spanish developments in the world in recent years. Its action-based game system combined with metroidvania and soulslike genres catapulted Penitente into the list of best titles of 2019. And even though we knew his arrival was imminent (as he told us in the interview Mauricio Garciadirector of The Game Kitchen a few months ago at the BIG Conference), until now we didn’t have a real release window.
At Nintendo’s Indie World this afternoon, The Game Kitchen appeared towards the end of the conference to announce the post window of Blasphemous 2, which will arrive in our hands in summer. The trailer with which they illustrated the presentation introduced new weapons, enemies and movement systems with which to explore this twisted version of Spanish folklore and tradition. You can see it below.
