The HOG-7 Hedgie Mech is the first big boss fight you’ll face in Atomic Heart. This boss is a formidable and agile opponent to face.
The Hedgie robot boss may remind you of the Omnidroid that Mr. Incredible had to deal with and to your surprise, this HOG-7 robot is also quite similar in some of those attributes.
Besides being a huge olive-green wrecking ball, Hedgie the robot has four arms that act as his limbs. He uses them to launch himself into the air and produce a giant close-range ring attack.
Additionally, he can regain his balance by using those arms for legs once this boss crashes into a pillar during your fight. Another thing to note here is that once he is hit, he will reveal parts that glow orange, meaning these are Hedgie’s weak parts.
In terms of difficulty, this enemy boss can present quite a challenge if you meet his attacks head-on, but that doesn’t mean he’s not as difficult to defeat.
hedge location
You will meet the robot HOG-7 Hedgie in the Atomic Heart Arena. Before that, the pig will appear to take out the train you are traveling in, so right after that, you will receive the quest known as “Arriving at the Exhibition”. This mission will basically involve you also starting the Emergency Drill at Atomic Heart.

So, as part of the objectives, you need to enter the fairgrounds area, but the doors are locked, so you’ll have to take another approach to reach this location. This time you will have to ask for the Falcon to land using the falcon service button in the terminal.
Once on the falcon, you can also use the cable to descend to the arena, which is the Exhibition at VDNH area in Atomic Heart. If you continue towards the center, you will find a white podium.
So once you hit it, a large white pillar will spawn near your left side and the Hedgie Robot-Boss will spawn from the far right.
How to defeat Hedgie in Atomic Heart
It is essential that before you get involved in the podium surprise, you return to the gates to restock your ammo supplies and weapon upgrades. Like once your fight with Hedgie starts, you won’t have the option to go back.
That being said, the Hedgie is quite the tank, as it can take all of your hits head-on without taking damage. Additionally, when he actively targets you, he uses the large arena to inflict a ranged attack on you.
This comes in the form of missile attacks followed by jump attacks. You should avoid these missile attacks by using a second wind upgrade, as getting hit by multiple attacks like these can significantly lower your health.
The HOG-7 Hedgie will roll around you for most of the fight, and when it reaches you, it will use its limbs to launch a giant orange three-ringed attack that you can dodge by simply jumping before it hits you .
All you have to do is shake the podiums around the arena to take out the big pillars and trick Hedgie into hitting them by getting behind them. This will leave the Hedgie open to your attack, as you will see glowing orange rings on its round body.
Don’t try to shoot the Hegde as the shots won’t be effective during its attack phase and you’ll just waste ammo. So the best course of action would be to dodge his attacks and let him roll towards you and hit the pillar instead.
This, in turn, will make him vulnerable, then, seeing his weak points, you can either shoot them or fight them in melee, as they are more effective in damaging this boss when fighting in Atomic Heart.
Another thing to keep in mind here is to not try to fight head on as he can use his claws to attack you up close. This happens at the end of the fight when the HOG-7 Hedgie is most vulnerable and will try to hit you with its claws.
So you can keep dodging these attacks or counter them using a melee attack to defeat Hedgie in this boss fight in Atomic Heart.
