As the main antagonist of the Resident Evil 4 Remake, this cult is no stranger to fans. But this time, we get an even sharper, more explicit depiction of what Saddler’s organization did to the unhappy town and all the poor souls who didn’t behave as well as Ashley.

As for Ashley, she’s the character with the most significant makeover between the two versions of Resident Evil 4. Instead of being a boring, helpless princess who needs saving, Capcom has blessed us with a more authentic portrayal of Ashley, a young woman dealing with the nightmare that pervades the game’s plot. The result is an experience reminiscent of the spooky horror setting that defined the Raccoon City trilogy.

Luis is another character we were excited about after the original change/remake. We don’t just say this because of his most significant participation in the story; Luis’ past is tied to Resident Evil more than ever, as he worked for Umbrella in this new timeline. Additionally, his death at the hands of Krauser made the closure of who was initially “just one more member” that much more personal.

A game truly haunts players when it reveals its main villain in a clever and cunning way. While some may prefer Resident Evil 4’s original approach to revealing the main villain, few can argue that giving Saddler more screen time in the remake allowed other heroes and villains to strut their stuff for longer. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that the Resident Evil 4 remake finally solves a problem that the original game left unresolved: the enigmatic Ada Wong. She’s always been a bit of a mystery on the show. Still, now that we know more about her, Capcom can take creative license to reveal her hidden past, a story only diehard fans knew about during the original game’s heyday.
At first glance, the changes between the two versions of Resident Evil 4 might seem like minor details. Yet they add to the whole transformation. The best thing you can do is dive in and experience it before Capcom releases even more new content.
