CD Projekt has released its financial results for 2022, reportedly the second-best year in company history. We also know when the marketing campaign for the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Phantom Liberty, will be released.
Today we learned the financial results (in Polish) of CD Projekt for 2022. In addition to summarizing the activities of the last 12 months, plans for the near future were announced.
What about CP2077: Phantom Liberty?
The Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is still a long way off. The marketing campaign for the expansion is not expected to launch until June. (probably on the occasion of the future E3 show). That may mean that’s when we’ll know its release date and see a longer trailer. Recall that the official announcement of this extension took place last September, and since then, apart from a brief teaser, the team has not been very eager to share information about it. As part of the financial results release, we learned nothing more about Phantom Liberty.

As it appears, 2022 was the second best year in company history. CD Projekt owes this mainly to the release of Edgerunners and the associated update for Cyberpunk 2077, which was able to attract both old and new players to the game. The company’s consolidated revenue amounted to more than 950 million PLN ($220 million) last year. Meanwhile, net profit exceeded PLN 347 million ($80 million), two-thirds more than the previous year. A large part of the money earned, more than 200 million PLN ($46 million), was spent on the development of future projects, i.e. the new Witcher games already announced, Project Orion or Hadar , which is a trademark of Totally original CD. “The popularity of the series and the positive reception of the update, which was released a week before its release, weighed heavily on Cyberpunk sales and sentiment around the game, as indicated by ratings from This is a clear sign that increasing engagement within our brands and expanding their reach is the right direction to take (…),” said Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt.
Only in terms of sales results, last year Cyberpunk 2077 generated PLN 500 million ($116 million) in revenue.. Sales of The Witcher 3 including DLC also generated a lot, over 150 million zlotys ($35 million) (chart below). Finally, it should be mentioned that CD Projekt currently employs over 1,000 people.
