An Activision Blizzard executive is literally posting there.
That would be Activision Blizzard’s executive vice president of business, Lulu Cheng Meservey. Yesterday, February 21, Microsoft traveled to Belgium to plead its case for its takeover of Activision Blizzard against the European Union, and Meservey is doing its part by throwing memes.
A quick story for this meme: Sony was reportedly offered a 10-year deal to keep Call of Duty on Microsoft’s PlayStation, which they apparently declined. This sparked the Cheng Meservey meme above, which argues that if Sony ends up losing Call of Duty on PlayStation systems, they’re probably only to blame.
I’ll give it to Cheng Meservey: it’s a way to deal with the scrutiny surrounding Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. “Posting through” isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and when you’re dealing with a trillion dollar company hitting a billion dollar company, admittedly it can be a bit difficult to take it all seriously. .
