In August 2023, GOBankingRates conducted an eye-opening survey examining the financial practices of 1,091 adults over the age of 18 across the United States.
The survey showed that the majority of people, about 32%, pay rent between $501 and $1,000 per month.
Thirty percent of women and 34.5% of men who participated in the study fall into this category.
The survey also revealed that about 21% of people in the country pay $500 or less in rent per month.
Another important finding of the study is that about 2% of renters in the U.S. pay rent that is more than $4,000 per month.
1.4% of women in the study fell into this category of people paying more for rent, while 3% of men are also found here.
This could suggest that there is a significant income gap between men and women.
And that is, it would appear that men would be earning more money, which would allow them to rent properties at a higher price.
