According to research by BankRate, in total, the top 15 banks in the United States hold a combined total of $13.4 trillion in assets as of December 31, 2022.
So taking into account the data from the US Federal Reserve, these are currently the largest banks in the country, ranked according to the consolidated assets they have.
1.- JP Morgan Chase
With more than 4,700 branches and more than 16,000 ATMs they have $3.20 trillion dollars in assets.
2.- Bank of America
It has about 67 million customers in the United States. Its assets are $2.41 trillion dollars.
3.- Citigroup
It has more than 1,800 branches throughout the United States. Currently, it has assets of more than $1.77 trillion dollars.
4.- Wells Fargo
Its main headquarters are in San Francisco, California. It has more than $1.72 trillion dollars in assets.
5.- US Bank
Its main headquarters are in Minneapolis. It has assets of more than $585.14 billion dollars.
6.- PNC
This bank has 2,570 locations in 28 states and Washington, DC. Its assets are $552.31 billion dollars.
7.- Truist Bank
Its headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina. It has $546.23 billion in assets.
8.- Goldman Sachs
Its headquarters are in New York. It has assets of more than $486.97 billion dollars.
