The house where Marilyn Monroe died could be demolished
The property is located in Brentwood, California, and was built in the 1920’s. This place is known for having been the only property that Marilyn Monroe owned.
In the 1920s it was built in Brentwood, California, with no major pretensions; however 40 years later the place became the home of Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe, the same where she died on August 4, 1962. She was 36 years old.
After the death of the actress, the place became a tourist spot in the area. This is not surprising considering that Monroe is one of the most important artists of all times, a symbol that continues to be recognized by the younger generations.
This property maintains the same original facade from the 1920s, although it is known that the interior has been renovated on several occasions and now it is said that the place could be demolished, something that has caught the attention of many, taking into account the aforementioned.

Different media outlets have reported that the current owners recently requested permits from the authorities to demolish the site and start a new project on the half-acre lot.
A portion of the permits have been approved by the Department of Building and Safety; however, they have not yet obtained formal permission to carry out the demolition.
The identity of the current owner of the site is unknown at this time, but it is known that he purchased it in 2017 for $7.25 million. That figure is much higher than the $77,500 Monroe paid for the place at the time.
The Spanish-style main house is L-shaped and spans 2,600 square feet spread over a single floor.
Despite the recent renovations, the place still maintains several original details such as its vaulted ceilings, folding doors, exposed wood beams and more.
Outside the place maintains green areas in perfect condition with a terrace, swimming pool and other ideal spaces to enjoy the outdoors.
It is not yet known what the new owner’s intentions are for the lot.
