Kylie Jenner gets blasted and deletes post about the war between Hamas and Israel

The 26-year-old socialite had to limit the comments on her posts amid a backlash from internet users

Socialite Kylie Jenner posted a position in favor of Israel on Saturday (7) following the invasion and attacks by the radical group Hamas in the country. Amid criticism, the 26-year-old model quickly deleted the post from her stories.

The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, who is followed by 400 million people, reposted an image with the Israeli flag and a text that read: “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!”

The post was only up for a short time, but many internet users didn’t like her stance and went on to criticize her on old posts in her feed. Palestinian flags flooded the model’s feed, and she has now also limited the comments on her posts to those she follows.

On Saturday, Hamas members invaded Israel and have since left hundreds dead and wounded. There was a reaction, and the conflict took hold in both regions, with shocking scenes appearing on social media all the time.

In the midst of a negotiation brokered by the United Nations, the Jews proclaimed the State of Israel in 1948 with the backing of the UN itself, but without the approval of the Palestinians – who revolted and have suffered for years from the scarcity of resources imposed by their neighbors.

Precisely because the conflict is complex and full of historical contexts, internet users criticized Kylie Jenner for positioning herself so ‘superficially’ to millions and millions of fans. Many even cited her friendship with model Bella Hadid, of Palestinian descent, who openly defends the freedom of the Palestinian people.
