Johnny Depp does not agree with the jury’s verdict either, as he filed an appeal not to pay his ex-wife, Amber Heard, the $2 million awarded in the last defamation trial.

According to TMZ, Depp, 59, presented a series of documents to the Virginia Court of Appeals seeking to show that the jury erroneously ruled in favor of Heard when they said that one of Johnny’s lawyers, Adam Waldman, defamed the actress with a means of communication.

“So Amber and her friends spilled some wine and trashed the place, cleared their stories under the direction of a lawyer and a publicist, and then made a second 911 call,” Waldman said at the time.

On appeal, the interpreter points out that Waldman was the one who said that, not him, so he should not be responsible for his lawyer’s comments, in addition to the fact that Amber Heard’s representatives could not prove that his lawyer made that statement with malicious intent, requirement to win a defamation claim.

It should be remembered that the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ruled that the “Aquaman” actress would have to pay Depp $10.35 million for defamation, but he would have to award her $2 million for the same charge.

Days after the verdict, Heard, 36, appealed the sentence that forced her to pay $10 million to her ex-partner, as she argued that the verdict was not fair or equitable.
