Dutch actress and director Halina Reijn is working on an erotic thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Antonio Banderas, among others. The film, called Babygirl, also stars Jean Reno and Sophie Wilde, among others.
Her second film Bodies Bodies Bodies premiered on the big screen just a year ago, but already Dutch actress and director Halina Reijn is busy with a new project. Reijn, who collaborated with Pete Davidson and Maria Bakalova, among others, for her first film, is stepping it up a notch and tying no less than two A-listers for her new long-player. None other than Nicole Kidman, known from films such as Eyes Wide Shut and The Others, among others, and Dolor Y Gloria actor Antonio Banderas portray the main characters in her erotic thriller Babygirl. Not much is yet known about the upcoming film, but it is clear that the screenplay of Babygirl was also written by Reijn. According to distributor Cinéart, in it we follow a successful CEO, played by Kidman, who has a secret affair with a young intern within her company. Who will play the role is not yet known, but we do know that Harris Dickinson, known for his role in Triangle of Sadness, Sophie Wilde from Talk to Me, and famous French actor Jean Reno will also be in the film.
Halina Reijn
Reijn has built an impressive film and theater career over the years, with roles in films such as Black Book, Blind and the Hollywood film Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. In 2019, she made her debut as a film director with Instinct, a thriller about a female policewoman pursuing a serial killer. Later, in 2022, she made the horror film Bodies Bodies Bodies for studio A24. Her upcoming title will also be financed and released by the relatively young American studio and will be produced by David Hinojosa of 2AM and Reijn’s Man Up Film.
