In an interview on the talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, singer Christina Aguilera was asked if she thinks she will be in the memoir “The Woman In Me”. The work, which has generated a lot of buzz abroad, compiles memories of Britney Spears, who decided to speak out for the first time since being freed from the curatorship to which she was subjected for 13 years.

“Man, I don’t know. I hope everything is fine with her, that everything is beautiful. The future should be celebrated,” she replied, laughing. Kimmel insisted: “What if you had to choose between being quoted or not? I’d like to be there.

The slender artist then said: “Maybe you’ll be mentioned. Listen, I’d rather you were than me,” she said. Watch the moment!

Back in 2022, Aguilera stopped following Spears on social media after the singer made a series of posts on Instagram as soon as the courts authorized the end of the control established by her own father.

“I mean, if I’d had the dancers that Christina Aguilera had, I would have looked extremely low. I mean, why not talk about it?” wrote Spears.

“Don’t you think my confidence would have been a little different if I had chosen where I would live, eat, who would call, flirt or who was accompanying me on stage? Sometimes it’s hard to see how much of my femininity was stripped away back then and every single person who sat back and did nothing. Anyway…”, she continued.

Symptoms of the disagreement had been going on since the 2021 Latin Grammys, when Aguilera refused to give a position on the artist’s freedom on the red carpet. At the time, the issue was in the spotlight.

Weeks earlier, when the “Free Britney” movement gained international visibility, she even published an open letter in which she classified the conduct of the pop princess’ guardians as “unacceptable”.

The recording of the moment when her advisor interrupts the interview and a possible skirt went viral until it reached the princess of pop who, angry at her colleague’s exemption, sent a very direct message via an Instagram Story: “I love and adore everyone who supported me, but refusing to speak when you know the truth is the same as lying!!!! 13 years in an abusive and corrupt system, why is it still a difficult topic for people to talk about? I’m the one who went through it all!” she wrote.

Britney went on to thank all the artists who have used their voices to support the cause and, in particular, Lady Gaga, who spoke about curatorship on the red carpet at the premiere of “House Of Gucci”. “Thank you, Lady Gaga, for genuinely taking the time to say something so kind. You made me cry! I love you!”.
