Britney Spears’ former manager resigned from her team during a time when the pop princess was immersed in a complicated divorce process with the father of her two children, Kevin Federline, and little by little he became her apparent right-hand man.

The level of power that she accumulated ended up worrying the singer’s parents, who accused her of having moved in with their famous daughter to control all aspects of her life and her finances, also assuring that she was drugging her, that she was undoing pills in her food and had cut the wires from her home phone so that Britney couldn’t talk to her family. Sam’s dismissal coincided with the beginning of the guardianship to which she has been subjected for a decade.

Now he has been the last to pronounce on the legal battle that his former client has started to put an end to that controversial measure that was taken during his supposed mental and emotional crisis, and for which his former manager feels partly responsible.

“I’m sitting here listening to the recording of her testimony in court, and if she hates me after being free, I won’t blame her,” said Sam On twitter. “I failed her. I was supposed to protect her from all of this, but I let her down and we both paid dearly for it. I’m so sorry.”

Sam only hopes that the decision that a judge has made this Wednesday, to allow Britney to choose her lawyer, something that she had not been able to do until now, will help her dissociate her father Jamie Spears from her career and personal fortune, something that the artist has been trying to achieve for a long time.
