The soccer star released a lengthy statement via his official Instagram account, in which he stated, “As an athlete, I have always tried to hold myself to a higher standard, recognizing the blessings and privileges in my career. I know in my heart that I could not have achieved much of my personal and professional growth, much less overcome the challenges in my life, without Becky’s love and support alongside me,” she added. “However, behind all this abundance, there is a reality that I have hidden from everyone around me.”
Lletget went on to note that she has struggled with “personal trauma and acute anxiety compounded by my own denial, pride and poor decisions.
