On Thursday, September 8, the star’s twin sister, Megan Prescott , shared in a post on Instagram where she revealed that Kathryn, known for Skins and the title role in MTV’s Finding Carter , is currently hospitalized in ICU after being run over by a cement truck while crossing the street on Wednesday, September 7.
“After battling complex surgery, some of Kathryn’s injuries include: a broken pelvis in two places, both legs, the foot, and the left hand,” Megan wrote. “She narrowly avoided paralysis. Doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery, but this will only be possible with proper care at this time.”
She explained that 30-year-old London-born Kathryn is currently in New York with no supportive family members, and Megan was hoping to fly to the United States to visit her sister, but the U.S. Embassy rejected her request on September 9. This prompted Megan to ask for help with the possibility of appealing the decision.
“I need help getting to New York to support his recovery,” he shared. “I will have to help her until she can start walking again. I need to be there to help her literally with everything as she will be able to do incredibly little by herself. She will be in rehab for a long time and needs 24 hour care, even after leaving. of the hospital”.
Megan continued frankly, “I don’t know what to do with myself. I have to be able to reach out to my sister to take care of her and right now I have no way of doing it. I know there is a lot going on in the world right now, but I’m heartbroken that I can’t be with my twin sister at this horrible time in her life where she desperately needs me. I don’t want her to go through this alone. “
