Traditional businesses, lagging behind in the use of digital tools in Puebla

Given the lag with which traditional businesses are lagging behind in the use of digital tools, mainly those located in the Historic Center, these are at risk of dying, said the president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Service and Tourism (Canaco) Juan Pablo Cisneros Madrid.

Faced with this situation, he stressed that the Chamber is preparing a plan and strategy to support them to enter the world of technology and strengthen digital and foreign trade.

“We are very aware that small commerce is at risk if it does not develop, if it does not join the digital evolution, e-commerce, therefore, members will be helped so that they can enter this technology and move forward,” he emphasized.

He also commented that he has a very complete and comprehensive work plan that will help companies to structure themselves in a solid way and that will enhance their performance and find their horizon, therefore, he indicated that they are working in the Canaco.

In this context, he indicated that the members must have the guarantee that they will be guided in the issue of permits, operating licenses and increase their sales, remembering that the chamber represents from small businesses to large companies.

He also pointed out that it has a lot of communication with the municipal and state governments, and added that this helps a lot to express the needs of the members and in this way work together with the authorities of the different levels of government.

Likewise, he added that there is a lot of interest on the part of the merchants, but also a lot of misinformation, therefore he pointed out that they have to work from the beginning and accompany their members step by step.

He recalled that the Canaco is present in 74 municipalities and has businesses, small and large companies, which makes the issue a challenge, therefore they are classifying to have a significant number that manages to get on this technology.

Cisneros Madrid pointed out that 80 members have already requested this type of orientation, so they are starting by zones and added that the works being carried out in the Historic Center will help a lot to increase the sales of traditional businesses.

Finally, he mentioned that they are in the process of mapping to identify which areas have the greatest need and to quantify the objectives to be met each year, since the new council has experience to share with the members.
