IAG agrees with Boeing the acquisition of 50 aircraft to renew its fleet

IAG (IAG) has reached an agreement with Boeing to acquire 25 737-8200 and 25 737-10 aircraft , in addition to 100 options. The aircraft will be delivered between 2023 and 2027 and may be used by any of the group’s airlines to replace the fleet .

Luis Gallego, CEO of IAG, said that the incorporation of the new Boeing 737 will be an important part of the renewal of IAG’s short-haul fleet. In addition, he stated that these next-generation aircraft are more fuel efficient than the aircraft they replace, in line with his commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The fleet order is subject to shareholder approval . IAG.

IAG also stated that:

The list price of the B737-8200 is approximately $120 million and the list price of the B737-10 is $130 million. IAG has negotiated a substantial discount off the list price.

IAG has a range of financing options and will choose the most suitable source as the delivery deadline approaches.

Options will be available for delivery between 2025 and 2028.
