José Ramírez was one of the figures of the Cleveland Guardians in the victory coming from behind this Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. The Dominican ballplayer drove in two runs for 4-3 at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners made the first differences in the game after the Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez hit a home run in the second inning. Julio Rodriguez celebrated his recent contract extension by producing another run on a fly ball to left field in the third.
José Ramírez began to produce in the top of the fourth, with a wonderful home run to right field, thus completing his 26th homer of the campaign. However, the Mariners responded later with Jake Lamb’s home run.
The Guardians’ comeback began with José Ramírez’s RBI double in the eighth. Minutes later, Josh Lamb grounded for Amed Rosario to reach home plate and later Andrés Giménez put in the victory.
Thus, Cleveland left behind the two consecutive losses against the Mariners and achieved its first success in the four-game series that ends this Sunday with a new meeting in Seattle.
The Guardians have a record of 67-58 and remain expectant for a playoff spot with a view to the end of the campaign, a fight that they will also have with the Mariners, who lead them a game ahead with a 69-58 record.
