The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, spoke on the morning of this Tuesday on the death of Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo, due to complications from the covid-19. In an address issued in the early morning, Duque lamented the death of one of the closest to his government. “I cannot express the pain I have, I want to offer my solidarity to his wife, Alba Lucía Anaya, and to his children.”

In his message of condolence, the President highlighted the work of Holmes Trujillo as Chancellor, Mayor of Cali and Minister of Defense. “It leaves us facing an invisible enemy such as this painful pandemic. He died full of achievements and projects ”.

“Facing this tough avatar of fate is up to us,” said Duque.
