Earlier this year, Instagram launched subscriptions that allow influencers to share Reels and photos for followers who pay a fee. At the moment, this service is active for a small group of content creators in the United States .

After its launch, the social network indicates that the prices range between 0.99 and 99.99 dollars per month . Likewise, influencers will set their rates depending on the value that their content may have and what their followers are willing to pay.

Adam Mosseri (CEO of Instagram) states in a video that the platform aims to be “the best place online for creators to make a living”, adding that it is the main request the company had received.

In the profiles of the influencers there will be a new tab ‘Subscriber’s home’ , where those interested will be able to filter the photos and Reels that are only available to them.

On the other hand, users will get a purple badge to indicate their support for the creator . Apart from the published stories, the creators can do direct broadcasts exclusively with their subscribers, in addition, it will allow them to chat (through group DM) with 30 people simultaneously.

Mosseri notes that “this is just one step on a much longer road to giving creators around the world a wide range of tools to be able to make a living. We are very excited.”
