The monster blockbuster “Godzilla vs. Kong” will soon have its first big trailer. The film poster gives a taste of the epic battle.
” Godzilla vs. Kong ” will bring two of the most iconic movie monsters of all time onto one screen. Both monsters could at least inspire the fans with their latest reboot versions. After ” Godzilla 2: King of the Monster ” and ” Kong: Skull Island “, the two monsters now compete against each other in a huge showdown.
On Sunday, January 24th, 2021 the time has come: Monster fans will get to see the first trailer for the fight “Godzilla vs. Kong”. As a little foretaste of the monster duel, there is already a poster:

The poster shows King Kong standing in the middle of a big city and looking out at the water from which the scales of Godzilla protrude. The poster also promises us that the fight will definitely not end peacefully: “One will fall”.
That’s behind Godzilla and King Kong
The giant monkey made its first appearance in 1933 in the film ” King Kong and the White Woman “, which has been remade over and over again over the decades. Among other things, in 2005 by ” Lord of the Rings ” director Peter Jackson under the title ” King Kong “. The latest Kong film “Kong: Skull Island” from 2017, on the other hand, is a reinterpretation that was supposed to form a common cinematic universe, the MonsterVerse, with the new Godzilla films from the start.
The Godzilla character was invented in Japan in 1954. The monster is often interpreted as a metaphor for the destructive power of nuclear weapons. There are now a number of Japanese films and animes about the giant lizard, which has even been allowed to compete against King Kong there. Before the first part of MonsterVerse hit cinemas in 2014 with “ Godzilla ”, director Roland Emmerich had already implemented the monster under the same title for the western market in 1998 .
A leaked image for “Godzilla vs. Kong” has already shown how Godzilla and Kong face each other. We’ll find out on Sunday whether we’ll see this moment in the trailer. The first material from the film was published in advance , which also suggests the meeting of the giants.
