The Internet Association will disappear at the end of the year, between too much rivalry and loss of interest
While all of these awesome tech giants are indeed competing against each other in many industries, they share at least one common goal and that is to move the industry forward.
It is for this reason that, despite their differences and rivalries, many of these tech companies have come together to form the Internet Association, a collaboration which is now coming to an end.
The Internet Association will disappear at the end of the year
That being said, it looks like this nine-year-old group will be gone at the end of this year. For those who don’t know, the Internet Association is a grouping of many tech giants and the new technology industry, like Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, Apple and others.
Through this group, these technology companies can weigh very heavily, especially on the US government in certain aspects involving technology.
Between too much rivalry and loss of interest
Unfortunately, the rivalries between the different members would be too important today, some companies have already left the Internet Association and the other members no longer seem to see the interest of being part of it.
Thus, a source told ArsTechnica that Microsoft is one of the companies that believe they no longer benefit from being involved in this association, especially when you have to pay no less than a million dollars per year to be a member.
If this dissolution is now confirmed and therefore now inevitable, it is difficult, at this stage, to know what the consequences and the possible negative impacts that the disappearance of the Internet Association could have on the tech industry. whether in the United States or elsewhere.
Anyway, The Internet Association will officially disappear at the end of this year 2021. A new page of the Internet is turning.
