MacKenzie Scott, the billionaire philanthropist and ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, gave a huge $7.17 billion to nonprofits in 2025. This is much more than the $2.6 billion she donated in 2024.

She shared the news on her Yield Giving website. The money went to about 225 organizations. These groups work on issues like poverty, social injustice, racial inequality, and climate change. Many gifts went to historically Black colleges and universities.

Scott gives her donations with no strings attached. This means the groups can use the money however they think is best. It is different from many other big donors who set rules.

Since her divorce in 2019, Scott has now donated a total of $26.3 billion. She promised to give away most of her wealth.

In her blog post, Scott said the big dollar amount gets attention, but it is small compared to the everyday care people share in communities. She talked about empathy, forgiveness, and small acts of kindness as important ways to help others.

Her giving style has inspired many. Experts say Scott focuses on equity and trusts leaders in the field.

This record year of donations shows Scott’s ongoing commitment to helping nonprofits make real change.
