The singer used the video of the dance group ‘Cia Fissura’ published in 2012 to promote the album ‘Versions of Me’.

Anitta, 30, is being sued for R$150,000 after reproducing a choreography that went viral on social media by the group Cia Fissura. The video published in 2012 was used by the singer during the promotion of her album Versions of Me in April last year.

According to Estadão, one of the dancers, Poliana da Silva Ribeiro, who works as a sales promoter, didn’t like the artist’s attitude and is asking for compensation for moral and material damages, and undue use of image.

The promoter, who is also the author of the choreography, claims that Anitta’s aim was to attract attention and profit from her album launch through the group’s video. Before it was removed, the video had more than six million views on the singer’s profile.

“Hahahahahhahahha have you listened to Versions of Me today? This song is GATA with @chenchocorleone and this funk at the end that @dennisdj left at piquizin Brasill”, wrote the singer in the deleted post.

The process is underway at the 7th Civil Court in Barra da Tijuca. According to the newspaper, Poliana has expressed an interest in holding a conciliation hearing with the artist.
