On Saturday the 7th, we woke up to the news that Hamas had fired missiles from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. The conflict prompted the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahu to declare that the country is “embarking on a long and difficult war.”
Some of Israel’s most famous names, actress and model Gal Gadot has spoken out on social media in solidarity with her countrymen. The actress posted a text on her stories saying that “At least 100 Israelis have been murdered and dozens of women, children and the elderly are being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas,” she wrote.
Gadot also spoke of the more than 3,000 rockets fired and the more than 900 wounded. “My heart is hurting, praying for everyone who is injured,” concluded the actress, who has been sharing videos and news on her Instagram profile.
Another famous Israeli, actress Natalie Portman, also spoke out on her Instagram profile, where she shared a message of solidarity with her homeland. “My heart is broken. Children, women and the elderly have been murdered and kidnapped from their own homes,” the statement read.
“I am horrified by these barbaric acts and my heart is beating fast with love and prayers for the families of all those affected.” The actress concluded.
