The Osceola Council on Aging will inaugurate the Buena Ventura Lakes (BVL) Good Neighbor Affordable Housing Project.
The Affordable Housing Complex provides housing, food and utilities to low-income people 62 and older.
This project will be developed on six acres which will include a community space/clubhouse to host potlucks and activities for seniors.
The apartments will be available for very low-income seniors, rent is subsidized by HUD, and tenants pay 30% of their income for rent.
Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee will also invest a total of $5.7 million. $5.2 million and $500,000, respectively.
The rental application process will begin towards the end of 2023.
