Genshin Impact’s birthday note to Aloy confirms that she’s still in Teyvat doing her thing, though we never see her in any capacity. It was added to the anime game after a one-time collaboration with Horizon Zero Dawn in September 2021 for the version 2.1 update. Since then, players have been unable to collect Constellations for the character to upgrade their abilities.
To get constellations for a character, you need to get duplicates of the character, which is usually done by shooting the banners multiple times. Aloy was a freebie as part of the collaboration, so there was no way anyone could get multiple copies of her to access C6, the maximum number of Constellations for each character.
It’s easy for us to forget about her, especially since she’s never mentioned or seen anywhere in the game. But today, on her birthday, he sent a letter to players saying that he had joined the Adventurer’s Guild and was currently taking commissions, just like the other main characters in the game.
“At first they only gave me trivial tasks, but after watching me dismantle three Ruin Guards before their eyes, they seemed to recognize my abilities,” Aloy said.
I’m sure players would love to interact with her in some way to see this progress, but that would likely require voice work and other collaborative hoops that HoYoverse might not want to go through.
At the very least, it would be nice to have a way to fully upgrade it, because as things stand, there’s no way to see its full potential. Instead of their Constellation text, we get a message that says “The time has not yet come for this person’s corner of the night sky to light up.”
This implies that you will be able to get these upgrades in the future, but until then you can look for other Cryo characters, Ayaka and Shenhe, in the banners of the second half of Genshin Impact version 3.5.
