Many have dreamed of being able to conquer to the moon and become a real Buzz Lightyear in the flesh. This has been the dream vocation of many children that only a few have been able to achieve. NOW, at NASA he did it again. He still sent some of his best men to perform a space mission that had not been repeated for more than 50 years. NASA has chosen four astronauts who should undertake the Mission Artemis II and will orbit the Moon next year 2024. They (and she) are: Christina Hammock Koch, Jeremy Hansen, Victor Glover there Reid Wisema.
This was announced by the government agency on Monday in a live broadcast during a massive event at the Johnson Space Center in Houston (USA) during which some additional details on what will be the Artemis II mission aboard Orion were advanced; the one that constitutes the second trip to the Moon.
But what’s really relevant about this mission, aside from how much time has passed since the last time such space travel was performed, is that, for the first time there is a black man and a woman among the selected astronauts.
NASA astronauts who will go to the Moon
Although it was already known that NASA was planning this space mission after so long, and it was also known that three of them would be Americans and one Canadian, the names of the chosen people were not revealed until Monday.
These are the four NASA astronauts who will undertake the Artemis II mission:
Christina Hammock Koch

Everyone will go down in history on this lunar journey, but Koch’s role is especially important as she is the first woman to travel to the Moon. Christina Hammock Koch is 44 years old and an electrical engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
She is among the experts who visited the International Space Station in 2019, during the first spacewalk in which only women participated.
What will be your place in the mission? Koch will be one of the specialists.
Victor J. Glover

Glover, a Californian born and raised in Texas, will have the honor of being the first black man to orbit the moon. At 46, he has already flown more than 3,000 hours in more than forty different aircraft. Additionally, he was a pilot on the first crewed SpaceX Crew-1 mission with NASA.
What will be your place in the mission? Victor J. Glover will pilot Orion.
Gregory R. Wiseman

At 47, Reid Wiseman can boast of having worked on board the International Space Station as a flight engineer in 2014 and of having also commanded the NEEMO21 underwater research mission.
What will be your place in the mission? Wiseman will be the proud commander of Artemis II.
Jeremy Hansen

47-year-old Canadian who joined the CSA Astronaut Corps in 2009. Prior to joining NASA, he held the rank of Captain in the Royal Canadian Air Force, flying fighter jets. This is his first space mission, although before that he worked in astronaut training.
What will be your place in the mission? Hansen will be another of the specialists.
