Sword enchantments in Minecraft are very useful. If you’ve taken the time to gather the ingredients to craft a diamond or netherite sword, you’ll want to have the enchantments to make sure you get the most out of it. The Sweeping Edge enchantment is exclusive to the Java Edition of Minecraft and can be used to deal extra damage if you use your swords in a particular way. Here’s what the Sweeping Edge enchantment is and how to get it in Minecraft.

What does the Sweeping Edge enchantment do in Minecraft?
The Sweeping Edge enchantment is used to increase damage dealt when using a sweeping attack with your sword. It can be applied exclusively to a single sword and has three levels. Damage levels increased per level are 50/67/75%. Now whenever multiple mobs attack you and you perform a sweep attack, your damage will increase.
To do a swipe attack with your sword, you just need to have it in hand and attack a mob that is at the same level Y as you. If it is above you, you will swing normally. If Sweeping Edge is on the object, your character will hit mobs in front of you with a horizontal sweep.

How to get Sweeping Edge in Minecraft
Getting the Sweeping Edge enchantment is the same as getting any other enchantment. You can find an enchantment book that gives you the buff by exploring the world, trading, or fishing out of water. When you have the book, go to an anvil and spend the experience to add it to a sword of your choice. Additionally, you can try your luck at an enchantment table, but these are more about luck. Since we are talking about a Java-only charm, we will add that you can use the enchant @sweep 3 command to instantly enchant it to the third level. To make any of the other tiers, simply change the number.
