A tragedy: that’s how the facts were
Police attended the 14800 block of 87 Court in northwest Miami Lakes to investigate multiple deaths after being alerted by a relative who was unable to contact one of the victims.
Álvaro Zabaleta, a police spokesman, said officers at the site had to enter through a window and once inside they found a dead man who police believe had committed suicide.
When the house was searched, four other people were found dead, all with gunshot wounds; In total, including the alleged shooter, there were three women and two men.
He lost his son and his ex-wife
Rolando Aguilar was comforted by friends and family after learning his son and ex-wife were among those found dead at the scene. “I’m in shock, I’m in the air, I can’t believe it,” she said, putting her hands to her face and unable to hold back the tears.
Rolando identified his son, Daniel Aguilar, 34, and his mother, Yoanka Aguilar, 54. He says both shared the residence with the other three victims.
Aguilar says his son was studying and working and last spoke to him last Wednesday. Apparently he was the one who shot everyone in the house and then killed himself.
A neighbor said Dhani Aguilar suffered from mental issues.
