In the latest XboxEra podcast, Shpeshal Nick gives an overview of the Soul Calibur license.
One of the most iconic fighting games, Soul Calibur, is likely to get a remaster. Although the source is unknown, Shpeshal Nick seems convinced it will happen. But how much?
Soul Calibur: Will it be remastered soon?
According to a source belonging to Shpeshal Nick, Bandai Namco seems to be planning a remaster for their first Soul Calibur released in 1998. However, it would not be the first Soul Edge/Blade title released in 1996, but rather Soul’s first game. name Calibur. To push the rumors even further, during the podcast there was also speculation that the potential game could launch on Game Pass.
During this broadcast, it is obvious that questions have been raised about the other chapters of the license. However, there’s no word on whether Bandai Namco plans to remaster all of the other games in the collection.
It’s unclear how much the remaster will affect the game. Will it be a vanilla version? With rigid sets and combos? Or will you benefit from an update to your game? Only the future will be able to tell us, but we still hope for a touch of modernity with possibly modes allowing to play with the old parameters.
However, even if the statements of Shpeshal Nick and his informant seem to be true, nothing can really guarantee this information. Indeed, Bandai Namco has not yet mentioned the wish to create a remaster for this license. Maybe we’ll get a bit more information during the E3 period. Bandai Namco is expected to make several announcements, including their announcements for the current year.
