Universitario enters the supplementary phase with an advantage over Cienciano

Next Thursday, March 9, Universitario and Cienciano will seek their place in the group stage of the CONMEBOL – Copa Sudamericana 2023 tournament. The match will be played at 11:00 p.m. (Argentine time) at the Monumental de la U.

Gustavo Tejera was the referee who directed the match at the Monumental de la U.

Coach Jorge Fossati took the field in a 4-5-1 formation with José Carvallo in goal; Aldo Corzo, Williams Riveros, Matías Di Benedetto and Nelson Cabanillas on the defensive line; Piero Quispe, Rodrigo Ureña, Andy Polo, Martín Pérez Guedes and Luis Urruti in midfield; and Emanuel Herrera in attack.

For his part, Leonel Álvarez stopped a 4-3-3 strategy on the field with Miguel Vargas in goal; Luis Garro, José Leguizamón, Carlos Beltrán, Ayrthon Quintana in defense; Ángel Ojeda, Gonzalo Gonzalez and Alberto Quintero in the middle; and with Jean Deza, Carlos Garcés and Juan Bautista Romagnoli in front.
