In Hogwarts Legacy, Ancient Magic Hotspots are the means by which you increase the number of bars in your Ancient Magic meter. Ancient magic spells are your “special move” combat spells, and casting one costs one bar, so the more bars you have, the deeper you can hit in combat. To reach the milestones of the “Collect Ancient Magic Traces” Exploration Challenge, you must find Ancient Magic Access Points and collect all four Ancient Magic Traces in a given access point, but sometimes the Magic Traces ancient are not as easy to find and unlike almost everything else in Hogwarts Legacy cannot be located using your Revelio spell. One of the trickiest ancient magical access points is near the town of Feldcroft in the Feldcroft area.

How to Collect All Traces of Feldcroft’s Ancient Magical Hotspot

The first trace of ancient magic will be marked on your minimap, and it’s east of Feldcroft Village, in the ruins nestled in the mountainside. There are two river trolls nearby, so be on your guard.

The second trace of ancient magic can be found south of the first, in the ruins of a small round tower.

The third trace of ancient magic can be found to the east of the second, inside one of the huge river troll tents in the troll lair. If you haven’t dealt with the River Trolls yet, you’ll need to do so now. They are immune to most spell effects, but their attacks are slow and easy to parry, so you can stun them and throw their rocks at them. You can even use Expelliarmus to disarm them if you do it right when they attack with their clubs.

The fourth and final Trace of Ancient Magic can be found to the west of the third and sits atop a ruin high against the side of the mountain. The only way to get up there is to use Highwing or your broom. There is also a landing pad up there.
