The community about 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles is one of many struggling in the wake of historic snowfall in Southern California.
Amid the snow, firefighters battled several fires Thursday morning that broke out in a residential neighborhood in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead.
The fire engulfed a home in the 28000 block of Bill Larchmont Lane, the San Bernardino County Fire Department said. The ministry added that several people said they heard an explosion before the fire. Later, another fire was reported in the 1100 block of Bear Springs Road, also in Lake Arrowhead. The fire department reported that the fire caused an explosion.
Aerial footage from Telemundo 52 shows several people shoveling snow in an attempt to put out the flames, which burned between tall trees and near residential buildings, generating a column of smoke.
Fire crews closed access to the freeway while using snowplow trucks to bring equipment to the area.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incidents.
