Ever since it was first announced four years ago, Baldur’s Gate 3 has aimed to be one of the most important pure role champions of the era, and the truth is that after first contact and successive updates since the launch of its Planned access on PC in 2020, the title has respected its proposal. Now the moment of truth is approaching, and Larian Studios wanted to give PlayStation’s State of Play a splash tonight by showing off the Baldur’s Gate III story trailer, its final release date and, plus, the announcement of PlayStation Version 5 (exclusive on consoles, for now).
In the new trailer which you can see below, we are introduced to a cast of archetypal characters in which the player will assume the role of a warrior affected by a parasite introduced into his head by the Mind Flayers race to try to undo his will, but instead it gives him new abilities to fight the sea that is devastating this Forgotten Realms plane.
The entire trailer was captured on the PS5 version, which will be released alongside the full PC version on August 31, 2023. Larian also presented a Collector’s Edition of both versions priced at 269.99 euros which includes a limited and numbered edition certificate, a 25 cm high and 1.1 kilogram diorama with the figurines of a Mind Flayer fighting a Drow (a dark elf), hardcover art book, Tadpole keyring, exclusive 20-sided die, sticker set, character sheets inspired by allied characters from the game, card kit Magic: The Gathering, a cloth card of Faerun and the digital copy of the game. You can reserve this exclusive edition from here.
