GALENA PARK, Texas (AP) — Three teenage boys, including one who was pregnant, were fatally shot by a man who also sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl who managed to escape, Texas police said. The attacker committed suicide.
The names of the victims have not been released.
The murders took place at the home of the shooter’s girlfriend in Galena Park, suburban Houston, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The girls killed were 19, 14 and 13, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The 38-year-old also attacked the 12-year-old girl and then told her to leave the house, Gonzalez added. The miner took a one-year-old girl in his arms and ran away.
“She ran out of the house with nothing on her clothes” to a neighbor’s house, who called Galena Park police.
Both girls were hospitalized for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from police, who are already investigating.
Gonzalez said the man’s girlfriend was the mother of the 12- and 19-year-old girls. The eldest was the baby’s mother and was pregnant. The girlfriend was not home at the time of the attack.
The sheriff said the causes of the shooting are under investigation.
