In order to advance the construction works of the TransMilenio main line through Avenida Carrera 68, belonging to the group 9the District Secretariat for Mobility (SDM) authorized this Friday, February 17, a series of closures on the expressways of the corridor of Avenida Calle 100 between the transversals 22 and 17, providing three lanes of traffic in each direction.
This is how the anti-casting doors that TransMilenio has already integrated in six stations work
During the presentation of the measure, a citizen tried to sneak into one of the stations
These activities will take place from 00:01 on Saturday February 18, 2023 for a duration of approximately six months.
What deviations will be allowed? Well, in order to facilitate the execution of construction activities and ensure the safety of all road users, the Mobility Portfolio has authorized the following traffic management plan:
Users who circulate in east-west direction on Calle 100 they will continue to travel through the three lanes that will be activated on the corridor. (Map drawn in blue).
Claudia López gave a positive assessment of the marches: “I thank all the citizens”
The mayor of Bogotá expressed her optimism for the development of the days of demonstrations in Colombia, and regarding the capital, she indicated that the 15,000 citizens who came out on the second day and the 2,000 on the first, had a democratic behavior that corresponds to the so-called “total peace”
Similarly, users traveling in the direction North – Sur via Carrera 9 Avenue and wish to take Calle 100 Avenue west, they will continue to travel normally. (Magenta map).
Thirdly, users traveling in the opposite direction West East on alley 100, they will continue to circulate on the three lanes which will be activated on the corridor. (Red card).
Bearing in mind that the enclosure proposal focuses on the fast lanes and the central divider, will not be affected the existing operation of the bus stops in the section to be intervened.
Existing platforms and infrastructure for pedestrians will not suffer any kind of affectation. For this reason, pedestrians and cyclists will be able to circulate normally through the infrastructures designed for them.
Given this new deviation, the Ministry of Mobility has made six recommendations to the public to take into account during the next semester:
- It is recommended that cyclists and pedestrians ride in the areas designated for them, as well as cross intersections and places designated for this purpose, so as not to put their safety at risk.
- It is recommended that all users of the sector take into account the information contained in this Traffic Management Plan and drive with caution, paying attention to road signs in order to be able to carry out their usual journeys without hindrance. Any lack of attention could affect traffic congestion.
- Drivers are advised to drive with caution and to respect the signs provided in the area of influence of this PMT.
- Pedestrians, cyclists and motorists are asked to pay attention to construction signs, as well as the instructions and recommendations of traffic assistants and staff in charge of said activity. In this regard, the secretariat also calls for the good treatment of these officials, who do their job to facilitate the mobility of other road actors.
- Finally, in front of the public transport that circulates in this area, users of the Integrated Public Transport System (SITP) service are asked to get on and off the buses at the established stops.
So far in 2023, the Ministry of Mobility has authorized over 30 traffic management plans to unleash key mobility works and repairs in Bogotá. A good part of them have been approved as part of the development of the TransMilenio intercity line along Avenida 68.
