Developer Omega Force says a Wild Hearts PC patch is on the way, acknowledging performance issues that plagued the monster-hunting RPG game’s release and saying it has already made significant improvements. Capcom’s rival Monster Hunter shows great promise with its unorthodox weapons and hulking enemies, but many gamers, even on high-end PCs, are reporting issues such as framerate drops, tearing screen and the appearance of texture bugs.
A member of the Wild Hearts development team shares an update on the game’s Reddit page expressing gratitude to players who have jumped on the game since launch, but acknowledging that “various issues” have hampered the experience for some. It states that “a hotfix will be released next week on all platforms” with fixes and improvements.
Among the directly listed issues is a fix to a CPU threading issue. Omega Force says that in testing this patch resulted in “significant performance improvements on high-end PCs.” There is also a specific fix for visual artifacts experienced by gamers on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards.
Omega Force notes that the default resolution for Wild Hearts will now be 1080p. He adds, “We’ve found that many users are using higher resolutions than the recommended specs can safely support.” As such, it will adjust Wild Hearts’ system requirements “and continue to optimize in that area.” On top of that, the team says a fix for audio sync issues is in the works, but will arrive in a later patch.
Our ongoing Wild Hearts review so far has found plenty of intrigue in the game’s unique systems and strong first impression Wild Hearts’ biggest monsters make, but agonizing performance issues make it difficult to enjoy as foreseen. Hopefully the next patch will bring dramatic improvements, because the game itself promises a lot. Until then, check out the best games like Monster Hunter for this patch.
