NEW YORK – The New York Police Department responded to a shooting that injured two teenagers at a Harlem basketball court on Thursday.
The incident happened at White Playground, located at 106th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. The victims, aged 16 and 13, were approached by a group of 8 to 10 assailants, according to the police.
One of the assailants was armed with an unidentified sharp object. The 16-year-old was stabbed in the back and the 13-year-old was stabbed twice in the shoulder.
Both teens were transported to a local hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.
The suspects were last seen leaving the scene on foot.
