A representative of the entity stated that, “The UCI has banned the use of tramadol in competition in all disciplines and categories in order to protect the health and safety of riders from the side effects of this substance. Violations of the ban on use of tramadol in competition are offenses under the UCI Medical Regulations”.

And he added that the Colombian cyclist, “has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the UCI’s decision, in accordance with the provisions of the UCI Medical Regulations. On November 3, 2022, the CAS issued its decision confirming the validity of the ban on tramadol and the sanction pronounced by the UCI”. For this reason, the Union Cycliste Internationale has decided not to carry out, “No more comments on this.”
