The bone waiters multiplayer games Medal of Honor For computer, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will shut down this week, including the 2010 version.
The soft reboot of a famous first-person shooter franchise that until then was best known for its WWII setting has shifted to contemporary warfare, and it’s been vindicated by successes like Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
And while many Medal of Honor fans fondly remember the title’s multiplayer mode, it now seems destined for oblivion.
In the early 2010s, EA and developer DICE hoped to release a new Medal of Honor or Battlefield title every year, but those ambitions were dashed after the financial failure of Medal of Honor: Warfighter in 2012.
The series lay dormant for roughly a decade, until the release of the Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond experience, though the games lineage has yet to come back into shape. Additionally, now that Medal of Honor 2010’s multiplayer servers are being taken down, the franchise could decline even further.
The online features of Medal of Honor (2010) are scheduled to shut down on February 16, 2023, giving players just a few days to try out this multiplayer mode before it’s gone forever.
With Medal of Honor 2010, Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Medal of Honor: Airborne will also lose access to multiplayer. While these servers were sparsely populated, longtime Medal of Honor fans will surely not be thrilled with this news.
