We are still having a fantastic time with Rock band 4 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to this day, but sadly it’s not getting the attention it deserves for one big reason: the instruments are so expensive they’re no longer produced. Seriously, the prices are locomotivee, specially if you are a drummer.
Still, there’s a lot of love for Rock Band, and a recent tweet from former Rock Band prop designer Hyperkin hints at a group comments from fans of the series. In the tweet, Hyperkin asked Epic Games (the new owner of Rock Band) to join forces and do rock band 5:
Hey @EpicJuegos Do you want to create a new rock band with us? Hyperkin (@Hyperkin) February 7, 2023
The tweet received lots and lots of attention, but perhaps not in the way Hyperkin had hoped. While many people shared the sentiment that a new rock band would be fantastic, the biggest calls were for Hyperkin and Epic Games to work together so they could create new peripherals for Rock Band 4 instead.
Hyperkin later acknowledged this, concluding that “the goal is to get new peripherals”.
Completely blown away by the response from the community! We’d love to fill a need in an official/licensed way, BUT the main point is to get you new peripherals! Hyperkin (@Hyperkin) February 8, 2023
Epic Games hasn’t commented on these tweets yet, but we’re living in hopes of seeing a new Rock Band game or just some new Rock Band peripherals at some point. Rock Band 4 is still getting new DLC every week (and that’s a good thing!), so it’s such a shame to see such a large library of content go to waste due to a shortage of guitar and drum controllers on the market.
